While the rock itself is a relatively small submerged pinnacle, the site is famous for its dramatic swim-through and its function as a &#8220;drift dive&#8221; entry point for those heading toward Japanese Gardens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-foreground-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-ff8e7e35329cb07e7f7d78fcf345ced9\"><strong>Key Details<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-foreground-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-e71de9b86a898a6275eec57ebb00e2a6\"><strong>Depth:<\/strong> 2 to 22 meters. The pinnacle itself drops to about 18\u201320 meters at the sandy bottom.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-foreground-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-f43b828300760acdcb9e1c4be0bb394f\"><strong>Skill Level:<\/strong> Open Water to Advanced. While the pinnacle is deep, the subsequent swim-through is suitable for most divers with good buoyancy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-foreground-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-8a2fe83de278ebbfd8405b2237494eec\"><strong>Visibility:<\/strong> 10 to 25 meters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-foreground-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-10ba711fef85fdde1e4fe8e7a20bcfbb\"><strong>Topography:<\/strong> A large, solitary granite pinnacle that starts just below the surface (often visible as a reddish hue from the boat, giving it its name). The main highlight is the <strong>&#8220;Nang Yuan Cave,&#8221;<\/strong> a long, beautiful swim-through located about 15\u201320 meters west of the main rock.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-foreground-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-2b400712a552e2d55f0105781124e00d\"><strong>Marine Life<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-foreground-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c64768a84b184a758fa32acfa091d975\"><strong>The Swim-Through:<\/strong> Inside the cave, you can often find <strong>Durban Dancing Shrimp<\/strong>, <strong>Cleaner Shrimp<\/strong>, and <strong>Yellow Boxfish<\/strong>. The light filtering through the cracks creates a great atmosphere for photos.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-foreground-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-1f44cc1976c451d8a87880732e5949de\"><strong>Pelagics:<\/strong> Because it is an offshore pinnacle, you have a higher chance of seeing larger marine life like <strong>Great Barracuda<\/strong> and the occasional <strong>Whale Shark<\/strong> passing by in the blue.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-foreground-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-7f6829552d4759e76a5a9eedbbe2e01c\"><strong>Reef Residents:<\/strong> Look for <strong>Blue-spotted Stingrays<\/strong> in the sand at the base of the rock and <strong>Moray Eels<\/strong> tucked into the crevices. <strong>Hawksbill Turtles<\/strong> are also very common here, often seen chewing on sponges along the rocky walls.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-foreground-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c9ac33a6d6e302a4beb99663a607f79f\"><strong>Macro:<\/strong> The vertical walls of the pinnacle are covered in colorful cup corals and small nudibranchs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-foreground-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-af245428c63a4f4a69324e490393dd3a\"><strong>The &#8220;Long Journey&#8221; Dive Plan<\/strong> Red Rock is frequently used as the starting point for a &#8220;Long Journey&#8221; or drift dive. Divers drop at the pinnacle, explore the rock and the nearby cave\/swim-through, and then navigate <strong>South-East<\/strong> across the reef.
