Dive Destinations & Weather Conditions

Dive destination schedules are subject to change without prior notice due to weather conditions and safety considerations.

If Bophut Diving Center anticipates in advance that weather conditions may prevent access to the scheduled dive destination, guests will be notified as soon as possible and given the option to reschedule the dive or cancel for a full refund.

Bophut Diving Center can not be held responsible for unforeseen adverse weather conditions, including rough seas or reduced visibility.

Waiver of Liability

All divers are required to read, complete, and sign a Travel and Excursions Liability Release and Assumption of Risk agreement before any diving services are provided. Guests are encouraged to review this agreement with legal counsel or family members prior to booking.

Additional waivers may be required for divers participating in training programs, in accordance with PADI or IFDI course requirements.

Diver Certification & Equipment

Only certified divers may participate in scuba diving activities, unless enrolled in a recognized training program and under the direct supervision of a certified instructor.

All divers accept full responsibility for their own actions and equipment.

Divers may use their own equipment or rent equipment from Bophut Diving Center. Regardless of ownership, all divers must:

  • Inspect their equipment before every dive
  • Ensure proper functioning of all gear
  • Have a dive plan that accounts for potential in-water equipment failure

Divers acknowledge that all equipment is subject to failure and must be prepared to respond appropriately.

Responsibility & Liability

Bophut Diving Center, including its officers, employees, agents, and contractors, shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, accident, damage, delay, omission, irregularity, or non-performance related to these services.

Guests understand and accept all risks associated with activities including, but not limited to, scuba diving, snorkeling, boating, swimming, air travel, and ground transportation.

Unsafe, illegal, or irresponsible behavior will not be tolerated, as it endangers fellow divers and the wider diving community.

Transfers

Hotel pickup and drop-off services are available at an additional cost:

  • 300 THB per day (round trip) for areas including Bophut, Bang Rak, Choeng Mon, and Chaweng
  • 600–900 THB per day per group (not per person) for Mae Nam, Bang Por, Nathon, Baan Taling Ngam, Thong Krut, Bang Kao, and Hua Thanon

Lost or Damaged Equipment

Any equipment that is lost or damaged due to improper or irresponsible use by a guest will be charged at the wholesale replacement cost of the item.

Full Refunds

A full refund will be provided in the following situations:

  • The guest cancels more than 48 hours before the scheduled start of the dive trip or course.
  • The dive trip or course is cancelled by Bophut Diving Center due to weather conditions (as outlined below) or for any other reason.

Weather Conditions

If weather conditions on the day of your dive trip or during the open water dives of a course prevent a safe and enjoyable experience, you will be informed of the cancellation or offered the option to reschedule for another day.

Please note that light rain without strong winds or large waves does not affect diving safety or enjoyment, and therefore dive trips will not be cancelled under these conditions.

No Refunds

Refunds will not be issued in the following cases:

  • The guest does not arrive at the scheduled start time of the dive trip or course.
  • The guest cancels within 48 hours or less prior to the scheduled start of the program.

Diving Course Refunds (Unused Portions)

For multi-day diving courses, guests may cancel without penalty at the end of any course day. A full refund will be issued for the unused portion of the course that has not yet been completed.

Final Notes

The guidelines above represent a worst-case scenario. Bophut Diving Center will always make every reasonable effort to minimize cancellation or amendment costs. Each case is reviewed individually by our European management team to determine whether special circumstances justify a full refund.
