Open Water Diver Upgrade itinerary aboard the Speedboat
We strongly recommend starting your Open Water Upgrade Diver / 20 meter Diver Course on Sunday, Wednesday, or Friday. This fits the boat’s schedule. On the second day of the course, we go out for easy dives around Koh Tao. We then continue with more exciting dives at Sail Rock.
1st day of the OWD course
- 9:00 am Pickup from your hotel lobby for the pool session
- 9:30 am Practical training in pool
- 1:00 pm By this time, for most student divers the scuba skills practice for the day is done
- 1:30 pm Transfer back to your hotel
2nd day of the OWD course
- 8:00 – 8:30 am (depending on the hotel’s location) Pickup from your hotel lobby.
- 8:40 am Arrival at the pier and scuba diving equipment preparations with your instructor
- 9:00 am Speedboat departs to Koh Tao on the way detailed pre-dive briefing by your instructor
- 10:30 am Arrival to Koh Tao. Your first dive of the day consists mostly of performance of scuba skills already learned in the pool
- 11:30 am First dive is done, the boat moves on to the second dive site at Koh Tao.
- 12:00 am Lunch is served on board. Detailed pre-dive briefing by your instructor
- 1:00 pm Preparations for your second dive of the day with the help of your instructor. Beginning of your second dive at Koh Tao, performance of the final scuba skills and enjoying a tour of the reef while diving.
- 2:30 pm Your second dive for the day is done and the speedboat is heading back to Samui
- 4:00 pm Arrival at the pier and transfer back to your hotel
Groups of maximal 4 divers per 1 instructor. Minimum 2 dives from the boat.
All our courses are with E-learning materials for self-study – you will gain access after deposit payment is done.
Course includes: all materials needed to accomplish of the course, pool session, 2 boat dives, equipment rental, IFDI certificate (PADI optional), Transfer to the pier if you book for 3 or more persons.
